The story of how we got our first couch is intertwined with the story of how we got our drool faced slobber monster A.K.A Jax. When we first found this dweeb, he was at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter in Cheyenne, WY and he had the saddest face one could ever imagine a dog could have, it was there we found out that he wasn't in the shelter for long but was given up by his previous owner days before he turned a year old because of the cardinal sin of not being potty trained in what they deemed a timely manner. So, it was easy to understand why this little boxer puppy was upset and didn't trust the world, and then came us, we found him and decided he was going to be one of us. What made this move for us all the more interesting was the fact we were planning on moving to Colorado and to make things more stressful we were moving from a fully furnished college apartment to a "grown up" apartment we had to furnish ourselves. In hindsight it wasn't a good time for us to have another dog in the home.

But then came the big day of the move and one of the first things we did was to go to American Furniture Warehouse and get ourselves a couch. And it was at this time that Jax still found himself unsure about his new family. Things weren't stable, Dad wasn't home very often, and Mama was stressed out, making life meh. So, imagine Jax's surprise when an empty home started getting filled with furniture and not just any furniture but furniture that Jax was allowed to sleep one, stretch out on, and at the end of the day something he was able to call his own.

It was in that moment that the drool face slobber monster realized this was going to his forever home and that his pawrents weren't going anywhere and 6 years later things haven't changed.
