Abbi recently got the chance to explore a brand-new park, and let me tell you — it was an adventure from the moment her paws hit the grass! This park had everything a dog could dream of: open fields, winding trails, and all kinds of exciting smells waiting to be discovered.
As soon as we arrived, Abbi’s nose went into overdrive, her tail wagging at full speed. She started off with her “inspection rounds,” checking every tree, bench, and mysterious patch of grass along the way. It was like she was gathering a mental map of the whole place, one sniff at a time. Then came her favorite part: the open field. I tossed a ball, and she took off like a shot, running with that pure puppy joy only she can muster. Watching her zoom around, ears flapping in the wind, I couldn’t help but laugh. She looked like she was on top of the world! At one point, we found a little creek running through the park. Abbi was curious, cautiously pawing at the water and giving it a few tentative licks. It took some encouragement, but she eventually waded in, happily splashing around. Abbi’s “not-a-fan-of-wet-grass” attitude took a backseat to her excitement, and she loved it. By the end of our park day, Abbi was one tired, content pup. She settled down in the car with a big sigh, her eyes drooping as we drove home. There’s nothing quite like watching her discover something new — every little thing becomes an adventure with her around.
Here’s to more park days and new places to explore. If there’s one thing Abbi’s taught me, it’s that the world is full of wonder when you’re seeing it through her eyes.
